 True fact about Lord Shri Guru Naanak Dev Ji Saahib

 

 

 

Today is Guru Purnimaa (10^th November, 2011) the birth day of Lord Shri Guru Naanak Dev ji Saahib and also very spiritual day for Hindus.  Before writing this article first I bow to the great saint of India who gave revolutionary Spiritual change in the India and all over the world.

Dhan Dhan Baabaa Guru Naanak Dve ji

Shri Guru Naanak Dev Ji was the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. The Sikhs believe that all subsequent Gurus possessed by Guru Naanak’s divinity and religious authority, Shri Guru Naanak Dev ji was the great devotee of Lord Shri Hari.  Also its believe that he was incarnation of itself the Superemebeing.  He has written lots of literature & poems.

              The Devotion of Shri Guru Naanak Devji towards Lord Shri Hari Vishnu can be seen in the literature of his Good-Self.      One of the two images above shows Shri Guru Naanak dev ji having a mark on his feet.  That specific mark found only on the person who is incarnation of Lord Shri Hair. Below are the verses from the divine Granth Shri Guru Granth Sahib.

The verses below are the poems by Shir Guru Naanak Dev ji  (which are rewrite by Shri Guru Teg Bhaahaadur Ji later after) from Shalok Mohalla-9

गुन गोiब<द गाइओ नही जनमु अकारथ कीनु ॥
कहु नानक hrI भजु मना iजiह बिध जल कउ मीनु ॥१॥

Somewhat Hindi translation:-

gu[ geivNd gayae nhI jNm Akarw kIn
khe nank hir -j mn ijs ivxI jl kae mIn 


gu[ geivNd (Krishan) gayae nhI jNm Akarw (useless) kIn
khe nank hir (Shri Hari) -j mn ijs ivxI jl (Water) kae mIn (Fish)

Somewhat English translation:-

You did not sing the praises of Lord Shri Govind (Krshan) and make your life useless.  Naanak says that ‘o’ my heart always sing Lord Shri Hari Same as like the relation between Fish and water (fish will died without water as in the same way devotee will died without Hari Bhajan)

Another verses from Shalok Mohalla-9

बलु छुटिकओ बंधन परे कछू न होत उपाइ ॥
कहु नानक अब ओट hrI गज iजउ होहु सहाइ ॥५३

Somewhat Hindi translation:-

bl Duq gya bNxn me< pfe kuD na haet %paye  

khe nank hrI Ab AaEq me< ro jEse gj pr hu@ shaye

bl(Strength) Duq gya bNxn (old age) me< pfe kuD na haet %paye (no remedy)
khe nank hrI Ab AaEq (Shelter) me< ro jEse gj (Elephant) pr hu@ shaye (Helped).

Somewhat English translation:-

Due to old age I have lost my strength and I am bound to it.  There is no remedy of old age.  Naanak says ‘o’ Lord Hari take me in your shelter as you do so with the *Elephant.

Here I am pointing out the word *Elephant (Gaj) in the Shalok that all Hindu devotees know about what is the relation between Gaj & Lord Shri Hair.  The story of this Gaj & Lord Shri Hari is very much famous in Hindus.  According to the Bhaagwat Puraan once Lord Hari Saved the Elephant from the mouth of a dangerous Crocodile when he calls for help to Shri Hari.   Lord Shri Hari ran towards Elephant from his Vaikhunt Lok bear-feet to save him.  Lord Shri Hari itself protected the Elephant from the mouth of crocodile as in the same way Shri Guru Naanak Dev ji says in his verses that ‘o’ hari save me from this dangerous Crocodile in the form of old age and give me Moksha as in the same way you did with Elephant.

 

The prayer sung by the Elephant for his protection which is written by Maahaa Rishi Vaid Vyaas ji in Bhaagwat Maahaa Puraan in the form of  Sanskrit Shlokas (Poem) is known as Gajendra Moksha Sattotra.  Which is very famous in the Hinduism.   The Fight of Elephant Vs. Crocodile can bee seen even today.
