Vande Mataram the Indian Song

Vande Maataram Is a poem in the 1882 novel Anandamath written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. It is written in a Sanskrit and later on Bengoli. Basically it is a hymn to the goddess Aadi Shakti Maa Durga (also Dharati Maata & Bhaarat Maata), identified as the national Image of India. It came to be considered the "National Song of India", and it played very important part in the Indian independence movement. But some Indian Organization refuse to this as National Song.

The Sanskrit Text is written in the Image on an Indian Postal Stamp.

The two verses of Vande Mataram adopted as the "National song"  in Bengali read as follows:

Here is the translation in prose of the above two stanzas rendered by Sri Aurobindo Ghose. This has also been adopted by the Government of India's national portal. It should be noted that the original Vande Mataram consists of six stanzas and the translation in prose for the complete poem by Shri Aurobindo appeared in Karmayogin, 20 November, 1909.

I bow to thee, Mother,
richly-watered, richly-fruited,
cool with the winds of the south,
dark with the crops of the harvests,
The Mother!
Her nights rejoicing in the glory of the moonlight,
her lands clothed beautifully with her trees in flowering bloom,
sweet of laughter, sweet of speech,
The Mother, giver of boons, giver of bliss.

Many Muslim organizations in India have declared fatwas against singing Vande Mataram, due to some muslim culture reason       But later-after Arif Mohammed Khan, a former Union Minister in the Rajiv Gandhi government, wrote an Urdu translation of Vande Mataram which starts as Tasleemat, maan tasleemat is very beautiful in read.

tu bhari hai meethe pani se
phal phoolon ki shadabi se
dakkin ki thandi hawaon se
faslon ki suhani fizaaon se
tasleemat, maan tasleemat
teri raaten roshan chand se
teri raunaq sabze faam se

teri meethi bahut zuban hai
teri banhon mein meri rahat hai
